CURRENT PTO NEWS IN GRANVILLE, OHIO
Order School Supply Kits for next fall: Click on the School Supplies link to order online with a credit card (or download an order form to send in with a check). There is a small convenience fee for online orders to cover credit card costs. Orders are due by August 1 -- please order early! Assignment books are included in the cost of the kit for grades 3-6 ONLY. Second graders will need to wait until classrooms are assigned, as not all second grade teachers require them!

GIS students need to sign up soon to participate! The Battles for GIS will take place May 7,8 & 9 for grades 4,5 & 6 respectively. There will be an after-school dodgeball tournament or movie option for all 4-6 grade participants -- tentative date May 16! Third graders still wishing to participate should contact their teacher or Mrs. Flere if they haven't received the list of books.
Terracycle News: Click on the Terracycle tab above to see the list of all acceptable items -- primarily includes items that are typically not able to be recycled. There are now multiple bins in the lunch rooms at both schools! Bins for foil juice pouches, foil lined bar wrappers (granola, rice krispies, etc), GoGoSqueeze or any squeezable fruit & chip/cookie wrappers. Please remind your kids to use the bins, we turn trash into free cash for our schools.
Sportswear -- online shopping is over for the year, look for our clearance sale on May 13!
The Helpful Ace Place is the new PTO-sponsored school store at GIS -- store is closed for the school year, and will reopen at the open house at GIS. Kids can purchase assignment books, notebooks, pens/pencils, and any hard to find items on their school supply lists, including tissues and wipes. All proceeds from this shop directly benefit our schools. We are looking for helpers to run the store once a month beginning in the fall of 2013 -- email if interested!
Auction 2014: We're looking for some team leaders and creative input -- send an email to Julie if you're willing to lead a subcommittee (donor acquisitions, decorations, etc). Official volunteer forms will go home with students in the fall, but planning has already begun!

We have the potential to bring in thousands of free dollars for purchases that you're already making! Shop for gift cards and more. Assignment books for grades 2-6 are only available directly through the PTO. Kindergarten and 1st grades DO NOT need assignment books! Send a note to the PTO through your student's teacher or order online and your student will receive his or her book the next day at school. Check out the School Supplies link at the top of this page to order or for more information regarding 2012 assignment books! Contact the PTO at granvillepto@gmail.com.
Like what the PTO is doing? Please consider donating if you haven't already this year! We take pride in the fact that GES/GIS students are not asked to sell candy, magazines and other items as fundraisers -- please help us keep this tradition alive! PTO funds help pay for cultural events like field trips, author visits, Science Nights, Reading Programs and so much more! All money raised through the PTO is used to enhance our kids' educational experience -- it's completely reinvested within our schools and may be tax deductible.
